Over the years, our ancestors have engaged in sieges and battles, including the First World War. Though most have failed due to the strong structures of castles, so that begs the question: what makes a good castle? Castles include three important layers that make them so strong. Firstly, a moat helps slow down the enemy as they approach, and using powerful gates, moats can be very deadly. Then we have towers. Most towers are round and square-shaped; the taller the tower, the more range the archers and crossbowmen get. It is important that ranged warfare is utilized as much as possible and the enemy archers are at a disadvantage, having a chance of missing their shots due to how tall the towers are, and if not trained properly, gravity can easily put them in a very deadly situation. Finally, traps and melee units are important to guarantee a successful victory. It is important to utilize the terrain and gain an advantage over all the swordsmen/slower soldiers and units. And as I said previously, terrain is very important. Building the castle in places such as mountains or places with rough terrain could really help the defenders and slow down the attackers.
