What is zero waste?

According to the World Health Organization report, every year 1.7 million people get cancer due to unhealthy environmental conditions, while 12.6 million people die due to diseases related to environmental pollution. Air pollution, which is a type of environmental pollution, is responsible for the deaths of 4.2 million people a year. What can we do to prevent environmental pollution, which endanger the lives of not only humans but also other living things ?
Environmental pollution is the unnatural degradation of the environment by human hands. The main reasons for the increase in environmental pollution are rapidly developing technology and industry, population growth, and unconscious use of natural resources. While nature has a beauty that renews and cleans itself, environmental pollution has become inevitable for these reasons. It is not possible to completely stop these factors that cause environmental pollution, but we can take some measures to minimize their effects on the environment.
What we can do to prevent environmental pollution;
1.Our garbage should not be thrown into the nature, we should ensure the recycling of wastes such as paper, glass, plastic.
2. we need to increase green spaces.
3.Animal hunting should be controlled and species diversity should be protected.
4.Renewable sources should be used in energy.
5.We should reduce the use of nylon bags.
6.We must destroy medical wastes in a way that they do not mix with water and soil.
7. We should establish wastewater treatment plants in industrial areas.Like the examples I gave, we can take many more measures to reduce environmental pollution.
What is Zero Waste?
Now and in its direct definition, zero waste is a philosophy that encourages the redesign of resource life cycles to reuse all products. The aim is that no garbage is sent to landfills, incinerators or the ocean. The proposed process is similar to the way resources are reused in nature. The definition adopted by the Zero Waste International Alliance is as follows: Zero Waste is an ethical, economical, efficient and visionary goal, aiming to lead people to change their lifestyles and lead their lives by taking sustainable natural cycles as an example. In this concept, the main idea is to use each waste as a source of another cycle. Zero Waste means designing and managing products and processes to systematically prevent and eliminate the volume and toxicity of waste and materials, conserve and save all resources, and ensure that waste is not incinerated or buried. If the Zero Waste philosophy is applied correctly, it will eliminate all harmful discharges to the soil, water and air that pose a threat to the planet, human, animal and plant health.
A Successful Zero Waste Example
A Florida-based, eco-friendly brewery has figured out how to do the least harm to nature for its part, by creating zero waste and, moreover, providing a source of food for our oceans and its inhabitants: Biodegradable six-pack beer rings. While these rings normally cause great distress to animals, this time they serve as food for wildlife in the waters. The beer rings produced by the company cease to be waste and become a source of food for another living thing. This example, where we can also see the cyclicity of nature, is a real example of zero waste.
