Inventing something new or being able to help as many people as possible with your skills have always been the peek of human achievements. There has been an ongoing debate about which is more important inventing new things and improving our world’s current technology or becoming a doctor who cures their patients quickly and effectively.
Being a doctor is obviously the most important occupation in our current world. They are highly looked upon by all generations. It is definitely a prestigious job and boosts your reputation. These are all because of their importance. Without doctors many people would not be able to live as long as they will right now. Taking older decades as an example, many people would die from diseases that are now considered risk-free and light. Weren’t there doctors in older times?
There were. The current doctors are better because they have better education and better medications which are all gifts of improving technology.
Engineers aren’t appreciated enough for their work. Only difference between the present and the past is technology. Technology keeps on improving every day. After a while it will start replacing humans in their jobs, probably sooner than most expect. The occupation which is one of the first in line to get replaced is anything health care related. This does not mean that doctors are useless of course but technology replacing them will even be better for humans. With technology in health care mistakes will be minimized and people will have safer procedures.
So, I would like to be a successful engineer who breaks new ground in technology with new inventions rather than a successful doctor who touches human life. Technology is the future of humanity. Besides the benefits I mentioned before, technology helps people with basically everything in their daily life and make living easier. Every new helpful invention makes the human experience a bit better. The best occupation to go for at these times is technology because in the close future most jobs will be done with technology rather than human work.
In conclusion, being a doctor is a very important job in our current world but being an engineer is a better choice if we think about where our society is going. Technology is the future and helping to improve it with inventions will be a better career plan as most jobs will be done by technologic devices instead of humans anyways.What
