Once upon a time there was a girl called Jessica who was going to a public high school. Jessica wasn’t coming from a rich family. Her father was died in a car crash when her mother was 5 months pregnant to her. Although it sounds like a really tragic story to almost everyone, she wasn’t thinking in that way. She was thinking that her mom was more than enough for her. Her mother has been both a mom and a dad to Jessica when she was raising her. Jessica loves her mother so much and they have each other. Since they are just two people in their family, Jessica’s mother had to work until midnights. Jessica was used to stay alone in their little apartment.
Jessica always has an interest in art, especially in drama and acting. Her mother was always telling her about her father Jake’s drama club stories. According to what Jessica’s mother told to her, her parents met in high school drama club. Her father was an actor in theatre. Her mother always looks to the same photo of Jessica’s father: He was in the backstage, getting ready. Despite she has interest and talent about acting, she couldn’t go a drama course because of their economic situation.
One day, a new girl called Sophia came to their town. She was Jessica’s new neighbor and classmate. She was coming from the city center so everybody in Jessica’s school have prejudice to her. Since she was rich and came from a private school, everybody included Jessica were thinking the same thing about her: She was the selfish, egoist, cocky girl in the school.
Although everybody was mean to her, Sophia was nice to everyone. One day, Sophia cooked some cookies for Jessica and her mother, and she went to Jessica’s house to give them. Since Jessica’s mother was at work, Jessica suggested Sophia to come inside. When they were chatting, Sophia mentioned a drama club in her old private school. She said that drama clubs are popular among private school students.
Jessica was really interested. That was the first time she was seriously thinking about opening a drama club. Her school was not that good economically, but Sophia said that her father could be sponsor to the club.
Soon, they started to prepare for a play. They talked to the school principal. They set the performers. They worked a lot to play this play. They placed minders at the school’s rooftop. They set a few curtains to make a stage and backstage. Everything was going perfect.
The day of the play has come. Everyone was super excited. Two best friends, Jessica and Sophia, were the main characters of the story. There were approximately 10 minutes to the start. Sophia was ready and she was repeating her lines again and again. Jessica was making the last touches on her makeup. Her mother went to the backstage to see her. When Jessica’s mother saw her, she stared with a weird facial expression. She said “You look exactly like your father. Don’t… don’t budge an inch!” She took a photo of her daughter: She was in the backstage, getting ready.
