Volleyball Match Report

Introduction

This is a report regarding our school’s event at the volleyball stadium where our school volleyball team’s match against another school’s team was held.

The reason for writing this report

This report is written under the request of the school principal as he was curious about how the event was.

The attendance

All the freshman and sophomore year students attended the event, accompanied by both the P.E. teachers, deputy principals of the grades and three of the English teachers, making a sum of 278.

The transportation

Transportation was made by the school services as usual, lasting 30 minutes. But many students and teachers have repeatedly complained about the dirtiness of the buses citing an unpleasant smell as well. This situation seems to have created a disturbing environment for the attendee while traveling.

The stadium and the match

The stadium where the match was held was a new building. The watching spots were able to seat 250 people, so 28 people, 21 of them students, weren’t able to sit. Later, chairs were provided to sit but they were clearly unable to enjoy the event as much as the other students. The match was held from 14.30 to 16.00, creating problems for students who use buses, as the usual ending time for school is 15.50. The match ended with our school winning 3 sets.

General opinion of the students

My observations indicate that many of the students enjoyed the trip. Cheerleading and supporting our team was enjoyed by many of the students. Some students who weren’t interested in the match spent time at the quiet and clean canteen.

Management of the event

The P.E. teachers and the deputy principals were very successful in handling the whole event, although two of the English teachers who joined don’t teach to the particular grades, so they were a bit inexperienced about the behaviour of the students.

Conclusion and Suggestions

My conclusion is that it was an enjoyable trip, but some better planning will make future events even better, such as:

  1. All buses should be pre-checked for cleanness.
  2. The number of students brought should be less than the number of seats.
  3. The hours of the event should be carefully planned so that the students who use buses aren’t subject to any kind of difficulty about their transportation.
