In our world, we are not equal and we will never going to be. From the second that we were born till the our last minute, we always fight with society for our equality, justice and choices. We learned to search for our right by society, but is not it the one who steel our rights?
We always use laws in speech but we are not giving same values to all people. Sanctions should give their attentions to child labors because children can not search for their rights due to lack of power in society. Laboring children is harmful for not only in physically but also in mentally.
Over one third of children in child labour are out of school and the agricultural sector accounts for largest share of child labour worldwide. Bosses use innocent children with their cruel ways like a machine. In absolute terms, child labour for the 5-17 years age range is highest in India (5.8 million), followed by Bangladesh (5.0 million), Pakistan (3.4 million) and Nepal (2.0 million). Also, child labor in Turkey continues as both an international and domestic issue for the country. From the data that UNICEF shared, nearly 1 in 10 children are subjected to child labor worldwide, with some forced into hazardous work through trafficking.
What is the solution for this crucial problem? There is an ogranization called ILO (International Labour Organization). Since 1919 the ILO brings together governments, employers and workers of 187 member states, to set labour standards, develop policies and devise programmes promoting decent work for all women and men. The ILO aims to ensure that it serves the needs of working women and men by bringing together governments, employers and workers to set labour standards, develop policies.
If we lok at the writings on child labor, I think most of us will Fikret think of “Boy in Stripped Pajamas”. The book, which many of us stopped reading because of sadness, actually presented bitter realities of the past and still today in the most impressive way possible. The three major themes that occurred in the story, The Boy In The Striped Pajamas, are the desire for friendship, boundaries, and the innocence of childhood.
Martin Luther said “The poor in our countries have been shut out of our minds and driven from the mainstream of our societies, because we have allowed them to become invisible.” and this quote explains everything clearly, but also deeply way. That is why those who can speak should be the voice of others so that the whole world will be shaken with screams and the voice of justice will be heard.
