Under The Rainbow

The morning was rainy, filled with gloomy clouds that made you feel uneasy. I was sure that the gloominess of the clouds and the non stop showers would continue the whole day but suprisingly out of nowhere the sun appeared, bringing a feeling of warmth with it. As I was about to close the curtions, to my surprise I saw a ranibow gleaming in the sky and without waiting a beat I ran outisde and found myself with the breeze dancing in my hair, as I strolled under the rainbow. Suddenly a door appeared in front of my eyes. I glanced at the doorknob and without hesitation I reached for handle and opened the door.

I froze with astonishment and saw that the sky was an ombre of pink and blue perfectly swirled together. The sun and the stars seemed to be awake at the same time as they were both beautifully decorating the view. As I looked more carefully, I noticed two paths leading deeper into the horizon. The first path was red with pebbles and the second path was plain pink.

After observing the view for a little longer I decided to choose a path and begin exploring. I felt that the best option to start with would be the first path that caught my eye: which was the red path with pebbles. At first the path wasn’t that nice to walk on, however, the breath-taking surroundings made it tolerable. Along the path there were many magical fairy-like creatures, they had small wings and seemed to be busy with completing certain tasks like gardening while chatting among themselves. The fairy like creatures were nothing like I had seen before, but especially one fairy really stood out to me. Its wings weren’t as vibrant as the rest, and it seemed almost tired. The fairy had a dress with delicate embellishments and long auburn hair. I was reluctant to get close, but I soon realized that the fairy was complaining about the tax prices on the acorns. The more I listened, the more interested I got. The fairy mentioned that the neutral acorns cost less to buy compared to the pink acorns, she mentioned how because it was labelled for fairies with tiaras rather than tough and hardworking fairies it was more expensive. I seemed to relate with what she was saying but even though I was intrigued in the conversation it wasn’t possible for me to continue listening since my vison became blurry and before I could know it, I had found myself where I started staring at the same two paths.

I was disappointed that I had possibly teleported back to the entrance, the first path that I had taken seemed to be disappearing into the depths of the landscape while the sun shone bright above the ombre sky. My mind quickly began to race with theories about this new world, but I shut them down and started walking along the pink path. This path had many new and interesting plants beside it. Some of the plants were decorated with neon colors like pink and orange giving the effect of something out of a cartoon. In addition, they smelled like Candyland, each flower having its own fragrance. My favorite had to be the green plant which almost reached a meter, covered in pink polka dots. This path seemed to continue forever and was mostly same all around. I slowly started to get bored of this path and started thinking about the fairy and its company. After a short while I began to drag my feet on pink path and to my rescue the ground started to shake again and before I knew it, I was back at the entrance.

This time there was no trace of paths left, it felt as if they never in even existed in the first place, when I looked further, I noticed that the horizon was also starting to disappear when the door came back. I didn’t want to go back, but I didn’t have a choice when the floor began to crumble apart. My feet began to slip as I reached for the handle and this time without surprise I was once again back in my world, with showers and thunders.
