Under The Rainbow

It was a beautiful day in upper New York. Summer was Just around the corner and the air was filled with pollen and buzzing bees. As I was making my way downtoun I stumbled upon a small field with long blades of grass. It was a rather odd sight to see a field between two apertments, especially in New York. Unable to overcome my curiosity, I took a step into the field. Just then, the rain Started as if it was taking a step with me. As I was exploring the area and examining the flowers and diffrent types of weed, the sun decided to peak from behind the clouds. A patch of sunlight filled the field. The rays of sun passing through the rain drops created an astonishing rainbow right in front of me I. had heard from several fairy tales that it is very hard to get close to a rainbow but if you ever get the chanse, you will be in a new world when you go under the rainbow. The logical part of me told me to not believe these childish stories, however my feet were already taking a step inside the rainbow

First hit the dizziness, then hit the nausea. Judging by the sweet smell in the air and the blurry colours my eyes saw , I wasn’t in New York anymore. It took some time for my vision to clear up. the first thing to catch my attention was the sky. It was lignt pink and the clouds contained every shade of every color I could Imagine. It semed impossible to take my eyes off the sky. Thankfully a giant billboard caught my attention. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that it said “Bow land, a land that never rains” In big, bold letters; I realized that they took the word rain from rainbow. since it never rains anyway. I decided to look around for a few minutes. My eyes caught tasty cotton candy bushes and animals made from easter candy. I bit into a little chick and strawberry Jam started oozing out. It was not a pleasant sight to see. I felt terrible and decided to leave. But when I turned round to pass through the rainbow, the rainbow wasn’t there. Panic swelled inside me and I became desperate to go back to the city. And then it dawned over me. How was I supposed to find a rainbow in the land that never rains? An intense wave of homesickness hit me as I realized my fate was sealed “SOMEBODY HELP!” I screamed. Of course there was no answer. I curled up in a ball and cried like I had never cried before. Many would have been thrilled to be in a land made up of candy.

I thought about life at home, and how I took everything for granted by stepping into this crazy place. My eyelids felt heavy on my eyes. I checked my watch but it had stopped. As I gave into sleep, I wondered if I shouldn’t have eaten that chick. Who knows , maybe it was poisonous.
