I lived close to the sea so whenever I felt sick or gloomy, I would go out and walk around the shore. After work, I wanted to walk on the beach because I felt pretty tired after the hard day at work. The wind sweetly caressing my face and filling me with peace. As I bent down to pick up a rock to skip on the surface of the sea, a sudden disgust for everything about life appeared in me. There was a strange language-ish sentence on the rock. It looked like a sentence or a paragraph in my opinion. Though I didn’t know why this feeling came to me but it felt really strange. I studied the rock as I continued to walk. My walking speed slowed down as I got more interested in the rock. As I was inspecting the intersecting rock, I tripped on something and hit my head on something really hard, probably another rock. When I stood up, I looked at what hit my head. I was right, it was another rock. I still had the other mysterious rock in my head but a strange feeling in me that was telling me to pick the rock, that I hit my head, up. I followed my instincts and picked it up. The rock was a little bigger than the first one. The front of the rock was empty but when I turned it around, I saw the same strange language on the rock. I compared the new rock with the first rock. They looked oddly familiar so it was most probably the same language. I had a small tote bag on my shoulder. I put both the rocks in my bag and continued to walk on the shore. I thought if there were other mysterious rocks on the shore. Now I didn’t even want to head back home even if the sun was almost about to set. I continued to walk while looking around more carefully, before finding these rocks I only looked at my footprints on the sand which were left behind. I looked around carefully and after a few minutes of walking, I saw a bottle a few meters ahead of me. I didn’t think it was a useless piece of litter, my mind was telling me that it was about the rocks. I quickly ran to the bottle and picked it up. As I was trying to open the tightly squished cork, I saw my reflection. The side of my forehead had a small wound. I touched it and some blood was on my fingers now. It was probably because of the rock I hit my head on. It didn’t look like a big injury so I shrugged it off and continued trying to open the bottle. I felt like this bottle was more important than the injury on my forehead. After a few minutes of trying, I finally popped the bottle. You couldn’t really see the inside of the bottle when it wasn’t open because of its frosted exterior so I had no idea what the inside had until I opened it. After I took the cork off, I peeked inside the bottle and saw a rolled-up paper with a small thing like a pebble. I shook the bottle. The paper came out and then the little thing. I first looked at the little thing and saw that it was a really pretty glass piece. You could hang it on your necklace if you wanted to because it had a home from both sides. I put the delicate piece of glass in my pocket and opened the scroll that came out of the same bottle. After a few minutes of trying to understand the thing written on it I realized that it was a guide to the mysterious alphabet. I quickly took the rocks out of my tote bag and started with the one that I found first. I tried to keep the words that were written on the rock in my mind but there were a lot of words remember so I went through my bag again and took my notebook and pencil out, which I use when I feel like writing something, and started to write the words on it. I did the same process on the other rock and read everything. It said; “103 straight, 20 right, 35 straight, 12 left”. Was I supposed to go somewhere? That was the first thought that came to my mind after I read it. Even though it was almost night time, I got up from the sand and started to do what the paper said right from the place where I found the bottle. I measured it with my phone and walked for a few minutes. After some time, I realized that I was at the place that the paper had told me to. When I looked around, I saw nothing. Did I walk to the wrong direction? I looked around a little more while trying to hide my disappointment because I was trying to figure out this puzzle for the past hour. As I was just about to leave, I saw a little piece of wood in the sand. That little wood was peeking outside. I quickly ran there and started to dig it up. As I dug it, I realized that it was a pretty big piece. I dug with my bare hands for minutes until there was a big chest in the hole. I tried to pick the heavy chest and eventually took it out of the deep hole. With luck being by my side that day, there was no lock on the chest. I curiously opened the chest and saw something that made me freeze in shock. It was a chest full of shiny crystals. They looked pretty real as well. I carried the chest to my house and went to the jewelry shop. After some studying, the man working there said that they were indeed real. After the news, I never lived my life with financial difficulties.
