I am the inventor of the time machine, and I would like to tell you about the first journey I took. It was October 13, 1923, when Ankara became the capital. I found myself standing in front of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Suddenly, my Atatürk was coming with his majesty and magnificence. I cannot express how excited I was; I had never seen him so alive, not even in my dreams. Immediately, I ran to him, kissed his hands, and said, ‘Welcome, Atam.’ He replied, ‘Thank you, child,’ and then entered the parliament together with İsmet Paşa. I will never, ever forget that moment.
As I stood there, taking in the historic atmosphere, I realized the profound impact that Atatürk had on shaping the modern Turkish Republic. It was an honor to witness such a pivotal moment in history firsthand. After spending some time at the Grand National Assembly, I decided to explore Ankara further. The city was bustling with excitement and anticipation for the future. I wandered through the streets, marveling at the architecture and soaking in the vibrant culture of the capital.
As the day came to a close, I returned to the time machine, grateful for the opportunity to witness such a significant event in Turkish history. My journey had only just begun, and I couldn’t wait to see what other adventures awaited me in the past.
