THINGS THAT I SAW WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR

We were living in a triplex house. Our house had a basement, a main floor and an upper floor. When I went down to the basement, a dusty door caught my eye. It was obvious that the door had not been opened for a long time. When I asked my mom what was behind the door, she said, “It’s a warehouse for our house’s old, unused items.” But I didn’t believe it because our house already had a different warehouse. So, I decided to research this topic. Yesterday morning, while my parents were sleeping, I secretly got up and went down to the basement. Since it was dark, I brought a flashlight with me. Frankly, I was a little scared, but I was determined to see behind that door. I opened the door and turned on my flashlight. I managed to step inside; a little bit scared. The inside of the room was so dusty that I could barely see around. I waited until my eyes adjusted and I started to look around. It was a strange place. In front of me was a closet and a mirror. I walked towards the closet and as I approached the closet, I noticed that there was a light illuminating the closet. I was thinking if I should open the closet door and finally decided to look inside the closet. I opened the closet door. Inside the cupboard was a safe that took up a quarter of the cupboard. Interestingly, I saw the password of the safe and a note next to the safe, the note said, “If you have come this far, open the safe with the password I wrote here and spend the money inside the damaged parts of the house. I wish you a healthy day.” I opened the safe and started counting the money inside. There was exactly 1 million dollars in the safe. I looked in other parts of the closet as well, but there was nothing but a safe in the closet. I closed the closet and rushed to the door, thinking that my parents were awake. As I was going up to my room, I heard the creaking of my parents’ bed and I managed to enter my room without them noticing. When I sat down for breakfast, I told my parents all of my experiences…
