Thieves On The Train To Alaska

Old lady Countess Andrenyi was drinking her daily coffee as usual. She was waiting for the train to Alaska. It was her first trip on her own in a long time. After a while, the old lady started mumbling. The young man heard that: “ Did you want something ma’am? ” asked the man. Countess shaked her head in sense of no. She was thinking the thieve that she saw in the newspaper last evening. Her maid told something about the thief but she can’t remember those words. The maid also told her not to go Alaska with the train but she was a little cracky so she didn’t care what the maid said. A couple of minutes later the train finally came so the young man named Henry helped her to carry the suitcases. The second she gets the train, she saw a man. An old man. His face looked so familiar. In fact, she saw his face somewhere. He was the famous detective named Hercule Pirot. Why was he here?

Countess Andrenyi met some of the people in the train. There was a married couple Mr. and Mrs. Malinowski. They were from Russia. They were nice people but they were a little insincere. There were a ladies called Marry and Elizabeth. They were the same age with Countess Andrenyi. And there were two mans called Michael and Derek. Derek was sincere but Michael was so cold that the old lady was disturbed. At the tea time, Countess sitted with Marry and Elizabeth. Marry was talking about the thieve. In a minute the detective came and started to ask questiones: “Where did you heard the man, why are you so cuirous about it?”. They were suprised but they didn’t spoil and pretend the detective wasn’t exist.

At the night when the old lady Andrenyi went to her cabinet to sleep she heard a noise. A noise like a door was shutting harshly. Countess was worried but also she was sleepy so she went straight to bed. On her bed, there was a paper and on the paper it wrotes a number. The number 8. Now, she was curious. Where does this number came from? Something strange was happenning on this train. Her insomnia got in the way of her curiosity so she went to sleep. Next morning she heard a scream. Elizabeth was screaming. The whole crew was in the dining room. Turns out that someone stole Elizabeths diamond necklace. She was crying and screaming. Suddenly Michael shouted: “Silence! We will find the necklace as soon as possible but we have to be calm.” Mean while, Pirot was watching the chaos. Countess Andrenyi sat next to him. He was taking some notes and reading his notebook. She asked: “You are a detective, why aren’t you doing something?”. Hercule Pirot answered: “I’d rather be in silence and think efficently. After all, we have a thieve among us. Like the thieve in the newspaper you have read.”.  She was shoked to heard that. “This guy must know something.” thought  Countess.

At the night, when Countess Andrenyi went to the lavatory, she Derek and Michael arguing. Old lady tried to listen but she couldn’t hear anything except this: “If you won’t I will.”. Countess Andrenyi almost figured out what was going on. “I’ll talk with the detective in the morning.” she thought. When she went her cabinet she found a piece of paper in her pocket that said ‘Call me now!’ On the crumpled paper, there was also a number whose last diggit had been wiped out. Finally she figured out. She took the paper which has number 8 on it and called the number. It was Hercule Pirot. He sounded dissapointed. Then he started to tell the whole situation to the old lady. Apperently, there was two thieves and apperently Countess Andrenyis maid told her that the thieves will going to Alaska too. Thats why she told the Countess not to go Alaska with the train. The whole situation was planned. Local cops knew that the thieves will get on the train so the they send Pirot to arrest them. But the thieves changed their names so Pirot was stunned. After the after the robbery of the necklace Pirot recognized the thieves by their faces. Derek and Michael was the thieves. By the time the old lady got in the train Pirot thought that she can help him so he leaved his phone number piece by piece to the lady. But they were late because the thieves were planning to steal one more stuff and leave the train: the gold bracelet owned by Countess Andrenyi. They stole it when the old lady was in the lavatory. They were arguing because Michael was planning to give the bracelet back because he was scared to get arrested. However Derek didn’t let this happen and they broket he window to run away.

The old lady was sad. Not because the bracelet was gone, because she didn’t listened her maid and went to the train anyway. As soon as they arrived the cops interrogated the whole crew. Pirot was also there and he was also questionning some of the people and trying to calm them down. After all that had happened, the countess thought: It was the best journey.
