The World is in Danger

That day had finally arrived…

I was filled with excitement; it was my inaugural speech in front of the entire school, and to top it off, they were going to record it and broadcast it on the news! My hands trembled, sweat formed on my forehead, and butterflies fluttered wildly in my stomach. My mom assured me it was normal, but to me, it felt anything but normal!

As the manager stepped onto the stage and called my name, I hurried over, only to trip and fall flat on my face—a truly embarrassing moment. Despite my efforts to brush it off, the incident lingered in my mind. Gathering my composure, I ascended the stage, where all eyes were fixed on me.

With a deep breath, I began, “Hello, friends. Today, I’ve come to discuss something of great importance.” No sooner had I finished speaking than a little girl eagerly asked what the important matter was. Though I planned to address it shortly, I nodded in agreement, refraining from scolding her immediately due to her young age. “This is the issue at hand!!!” I exclaimed.

Anticipating laughter, I paused before delivering the punchline: “Robots and the jobs they’ve taken from us.” As expected, laughter erupted throughout the audience. Undeterred, I pressed on, determined not to let my extensive preparation go to waste. “Friends, while it may seem amusing, this is a real concern!” I emphasized, frustrated by the gravity of the situation being overshadowed by humor.

Continuing, I elaborated, “Robots are increasingly displacing human workers in various professions—tailors, doctors, pilots, waiters, and more. If this trend continues unchecked, we may find ourselves facing poverty!” Gradually, the laughter subsided, replaced by a somber atmosphere as I delved deeper into the issue, providing additional context and details.

However, despite my efforts to raise awareness, days later, I realized little had changed. It seemed that my message hadn’t fully resonated with everyone. Nonetheless, I remained hopeful that you, dear reader, would understand the gravity of this situation.
