It is commonly believed that we live in an objective, corporal world. But many people disagree with this statement, proposing their own reasons. They believe that we are living in a simulation and some other power might be controlling us, just like we do when we are playing real life simulation video games. This idea is spread among a huge population and many well-known people are included as well, such as Elon Musk.
In order for this theory to be true, there must be another world, where computers with extremely strong Artificial Intelligence exist. From my perspective, this is the point what makes the whole theory become a fantasy since there isn’t an end to that loop. If the main world which controls the simulation exists, then there is the possibility of many mores existing, so it basically turns into a very complex situation. We have online simulation games and imagine the characters actually living. I think that would be so ridiculous. Moreover, the complexity of our universe is evidence enough to prove that we are living in a material world. You may say that the community which brings life to our simulation might be developed enough to form such a complex world. Well, I believe if that was the case, then they wouldn’t have used computers in order to create this simulation, and that is literally the whole point of this theory. It states that we are living in another computer program. Furthermore, even if it was true, even if we were just the puppets of a big system, we would still be existing in the main world which we were created and that would make us a part of the real world from my perspective.
So, to sum up all the ideas, I believe we are definitely living in a real, material world and there are no exceptions. I am not saying that this theory is certainly not true, because I am not a scientist nor an expert. But when we take a look at the idea of living in a simulation, we can observe many voids. One thing is for sure, if this theory is true, then we will never get to find out it is since all our actions are managed by them and this means that they will never allow us to comprehend the secrets they don’t want us to know.
