The Reign of Artificial Intelligence: Will It Conquer Everything?

As we all have heard already, AI has progressed at an extreme rate which we consider by 2025, over 85 million jobs will be replaced by AI, and 97 million more being created. The Forage states that 47 percent of the United States jobs are at the risk of being replaced by AI. Which looks absoulutely horrifying, but it might not be that horrifying.

Jobs are everything. Jobs are how the world works. How can it might not be that horrifying that AI is taking away almost half of the people’s jobs? As I mentioned in the first sentence, As jobs are getting replaced, we will be finding new jobs, Because artificial intelligence is really not that free that it can control itself without any human help. We can clearly say that IT and Computer Science based jobs will be owning a huge part of jobs. Simply because it has controlling artificial intelligence in it. We can say, in a different way, our “workpower” will not be humans, but it will be Artificial Intelligence. Another huge part to mention about jobs are that jobs like teaching, psychologists and other feeling and educational related jobs will not be taken away. Artificial Intelligence can not replace a human, and it won’t be as natural as human. We can think of many jobs besides teaching and psychology like medicine (partly, maybe less on academic side and more on ethical side), nursing home staff and many more. Even basic sciences professionally like mathematics and physics will probably be rarely occupied, since artificial intelligence – ChatGPT taken as the bot here, cannot even do proper maths. For example, ChatGPT tried to solve the question: ” Every number is between and including 1 and 1071 are written next to each other to form a number which goes like: 12345678…….106910701071. Find the 1000th digit of this number and prove your solution.” This question is a question which I found from the lowest level studying book for the Turkish NMO. ChatGPT responded with the clearly wrong answer. Not even once, but twice. Then I told the answer.
Which you can clearly see, the workings are complete random. The thing is, most jobs are usually based on creativity and problem solving skills – not the mathematical ones. AI has extremely low skill in theoritical thinking, which us humans do very occasionally. Us worrying about not finding jobs in the shadow of AI is just an irrelevant idea. But some jobs will of course be taken by AI. There shouldn’t be any doubt in that.
