A country born from its ashes. A nation rising from wars and poverty. A man with glowing blue eyes building a country while fighting his own battles, trying to get Turkey to a level of wisdom, democracy, and freedom. Not only did he fight the other nations, but he also fought against his people.
The dark times of the Ottoman were not something everyone wanted to remember. The other nations were coming together to take down the Ottoman Empire, which was being conquered from within. The economy was no better than the governance itself. The people were hopelessly tired of waiting for a savior, a change that wasn’t going to happen.
Rumors were going on around the empire even reaching the ears of the deaf. The people didn’t believe it at first. Most of them thought it was a rumor to lighten up the spirit of the lower class or was just a joke among the kids. But, it was proven wrong when a man with blond hair and light blue eyes set out to start his journey of liberation. An endless hope filled with his passion for the country that he has grown up in.
The road that he chose was an endless one. A goal set so high that not everyone can visualize even if they did, not brave enough to fulfill it. He wanted the best for his country and did everything he could for the sake of others. Not everyone appreciated his effort for the nation. Most of them got along in illegal activities to stop his purpose of evolution.
The beginning wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. The sleepless nights and days filled with plans and meetings to revolutionize the country had taken a toll on his health. He filled the hole in his heart with drinking and smoking. He may have won against battles but unfortunately, couldn’t fight the disease that was seizing him day by day.
In the end, he sacrificed his health along with his time to raise the country to a level that cannot be accomplished in such a short time. Thanks to his ambition and vision, we are celebrating the 100th year of 29th October, the day Turkey reached a milestone in its existence. A day engraved in history with golden letters.
