The Conjuring

Last week I’ve watched a movie called “The Conjuring”. This movie was actually a beginning of a 7-movie series but later, I’ve learnt that each of the movies tell a different story.

So the story takes place rural valley. There is big old house which was built in 1834 by a farmer called Judson Sherman and he started to live there with her wife, Bathsheba Sherman. Bathsheba was accused of witchcraft multiple times and often acted strange. One night, at 3:07  a.m. Judson find Bathsheba sacrificing their week-old baby infront of the fireplace to the devil, proclaiming her pure love to Satan and cursing anyone who tries to took her land before she hung herself to a tree infront of their house. After that day, anything who has stepped on Bathsheba’s land has either commited suicide or has mysteriously vanished.

At 1971 a family of seven (the Perron’s) moved to the house unaware of the curse. After they move in, strange events begin to occur in the house. Doors open and close, something pulls children’s legs while they sleep, children see beings behind doors at home at night, they see other children, their mother Carolyn starts to get meaningless bruises on her body, and lastly, an evil being attacks one of her daughters, and after this incident, she panics. Carolyn contacts world famous demonologists The Warrens who has solved numerous paranormal events.  The rest of the movie tells how the Warrens try to perform on exorcism on the curse that the Perrons has involved in.

To be honest I really liked this movie. And the thing that made my blood ran cold was the inscription that said “Based On True Events”. Tis really made me question a lot of things. And I appriciated the way the Warrens gave up on all their studies just to help the Perrons. Them saving each other throughout the whole movie was really touching. And yes, I would recommend this movie to a friend.
