The Best Punishment

Child labor refers to the exploitation of children through any form of work that deprives children of their nonage, interferes with their capability to attend the regular academy, and is mentally, physically, socially, and innocently dangerous. There are laws about the situation.

According to the labor law of the Republic of Turkey, children over the age of 14 can work, but at intervals of hours where their education will not be damaged. It is also stated that it will be controlled by the Ministry of Education. Of course, there are children who are under the age limit specified in the law and are employed. However, the punishment for employing child labor is not much of a deterrent in Turkey. It is just two thousand two hundred and ninety-two Turkish liras. According to TÜİK, there are 1 million child laborers in Turkey.

(in the United States of America(general)) Federal child labor law generally prohibits the employment of minors in provincial occupations under the age of 14, restricts the hours and types of work that can be performed by minors under 16, and prohibits the employment of minors under the age of 18 in any dangerous occupation. Violators of the child labor provisions are subject to a civil money penalty of up to $10,000 for each employee who was the subject of a violation. This is a slightly better punishment than Turkey’s punishment. But I think this is not enough.

In the United Kingdom, children can only start full-time work once they’ve reached the minimum school leaving age they can then work up to a maximum of 40 hours a week. Once someone reaches 16, you may need to pay them through PAYE(This is the system your employer or pension provider uses to take Income Tax and National Insurance contributions before they pay your wages or pension.). Once someone reaches 18, adult employment rights and rules then apply. Failure to comply with the Child Employment Legislation can lead to prosecution. The penalty for an offense under this legislation is a £1000 fine or 6 months in prison.

In my opinion, the best form of punishment is UK’s. Because prison has always looked scary to people. So if you say people jail time, it would be a more effective punishment.
