Take the Bitter With the Sweet

Mosquitoes, which are among the many animal and insect species we live in the universe, have an important place in our lives, even though we may not realize it. As most of us know, mosquitoes are long-legged insects that survive by sucking blood. Many of us, including me, are bothered by mosquitoes that appear especially when the weather gets warmer. But do we know how important they are for our world and ecosystem?

Many scientists and people, such as Albert Einstein, think that mosquitoes, like other animal species, have an important place in our ecosystem and that if they do not continue their lives, our world will end. According to Einstein, If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would only have four years of life left. And I think we can say the same sentence for mosquitoes. Even though we do not realize it, mosquitoes have more benefits than we can count for our world. One of these is that mosquitoes, although not as much as bees, also pollinate aquatic plants. At the same time, like every living creature in this ecosystem, mosquitoes are the food source of many bird-like animals. What Do Mosquitoes Eat? | Mosquito Control Experts in TX

On the other hand, some people think Mosquitoes have no function other than sucking people’s blood and disturbing people. don’t think there is much of this society because those who think like this have much knowledge about the ecosystem of our world. We have all used methods such as mosquito repellent to keep mosquitoes away from our surroundings. As long as these do not exceed a certain level, there is no problem. Ultimately, these mosquitoes can harm us. But I don’t understand why people act selfishly and kill mosquitoes for their purposes. For example, it is not a problem to spray mosquitoes that transmit diseases to people, but it is not right to unknowingly kill mosquitoes that suck our blood just to feed.

As for the conclusion, I do not agree with the thesis that if mosquitoes, like every living creature are an indispensable part of our ecosystem, they disappear, and there will be no change in the ecosystem. Even though mosquitoes sometimes bore us with their actions, they are at least as important as plants. If even a tiny insect goes extinct, there will be significant changes in our ecosystem and life the same goes for mosquitoes. Even though we are uncomfortable, we have to endure them.
