Stress

John was a student in high school. His lessons were good, but he was very stressed while in exams, so that was affecting his grades. He was thinking about getting some help from other people on this issue.

One day he went to school again. He had a biology quiz on that day and studied a lot. He thought he was ready, but the moment he got the exam, his heart was beating so fast. He was replying,

“-I know the answer… I know the answers.”

At the end of the exam, he thought he did very well although a few days later when the results were told to students John did bad. When he got his paper to see his incorrect answers, he was shocked. He thought that he would did all of them correct if he did them now. That night he went to tell the situation to his dad. His dad was thinking about visiting a doctor for his son. John was also feeling stomach ache during the exams. The problem was so serious. One week later they went to a doctor to make him deal with his stress in exams. After a few days going to the doctor. He was feeling well. He was not making much stress as he used to. He started getting better grades on exams. He was going to have a really important exam in two months. It was one of the most important exams in his life. He was going to school and coming back home after school and studying for the exam. He was motivating himself at that time. When there were ten days left to take the exam his stress was getting higher every day. When there were two days left to the exam, he couldn’t stop thinking about it. And when there was only one day left to the exam he went to talk with his father. His father was watching the news on TV. He went there and sat on the sofa. He was ready to talk about an issue that was really serious. A few seconds later he started talking,

“Dad, I know it is going to feel bad, but I think I do not want to have that exam.”

“Why?” His dad asked.

He replied, “I’m really stressed about it; I think I am not going to make it. I feel bad.”

His father said: “Don’t worry. Don’t budge an inch! You will make it.”

“I am a scared dad.” He said.

“No, don’t be scared. Your stress level will come much higher when you are scared. You have worked very well, and you will do it.” His father replied.

He said, “Okay, I will try my best.”

John tried his best and got a good grade on the exam. He learned how to deal with his stress at that time. He trusted himself.
