Society’s Biggest Mistake

Society’s Biggest Mistake

There are certain and established roles in society according to genders. This cylinder is the most important factor that triggers gender discrimination. The reason for creating the boundaries of these elements is that the roles attributed to reproduction are classificatory.

The first thing I’m going to talk about is that there are more opportunities for boys around the world. Their education is given more importance, girls are not educated. I think the reason for this is stereotyped roles from the past. When we look at it from a general point of view, the roles and judgments created according to gender in society lead to inequality. Why? With a very simple example, we can see the generalizations that have become stereotypes in our society. “Women drive badly”, which is considered true by many sections of society. judgment; While stating that women drive badly, it is a sexist idea that praises men’s ability to drive. In our society, there are gender roles that have been approved by certain groups and belief styles from past to present. The opinions of those who are against the idea of gender equality are as follows: Gender roles bring order. But it is an injustice to both men and women. We can see people with this mindset as people with an unjust and discriminatory mentality. Everyone can do what they want, and no one can interfere. There are stereotyped roles determined by gender in the society from past years to the present. These roles should not create opposing views on gender equality. Because if a society wants to develop and modernize, it must be open-minded. And a society with an open mindset does not create roles according to the genders.

Another example on this subject is stereotyped discourses such as “The man is the mainstay of the house, he brings the money to the house”, “The man is the pillar of the house”. Only men are not obliged to provide for the household. This responsibility does not only belong to men. The people living in that house should meet the needs of the house in common. Let’s imagine a man and a woman living in the same house. When we interpret these two individuals by looking at the roles created by our society, while the man works and runs the home economy; On the other hand, the woman does the housework and looks after the children. However, from two people living in the same house, the woman can work and take care of the home economy, and the man can help with the housework or both can work and run their business in a synchronized manner. These are very possible things, but because of the roles that society creates, there is discrimination, stereotypes and inequality in society. Eliminating social equality and gender discrimination by destroying these ideas from the past in our society is the most important problem to be solved in this regard. Instead of classifying people according to their gender, a society that believes that everyone can do anything, that supports and thinks people in that direction is a society that can be lived within the framework of equality.

As a matter of fact, sentences that can be used for a society that thinks that gender roles provide order will be insufficient. We wish to create a society where we can live in social unity, equality, justice and peace by helping a mob deprived of justice quickly and freeing them from the environment of this wrong thought.
