Teenage boys hanging out in a bedroom playing video games together

SIMPLE GAME

Is the “Online Gaming Trend” just an entertainment or a real social problem?

Some games are far from reality. They give the chance to do whatever a person want. For example a player can shoot an ordinary person just walking on the street, or jump off a roof. There is no punishment in these games. For this reason, those games are the most interesting and entertaining games to us because we can experience and do whatever we want. Maybe these games are helping us to get calmer because we can take out our anger. These games make the people feel free and independent. And when we experience these games with our friend or anyone, it becomes more entertaining. There is someone by our side who also experiences these games with us, we are not alone. That is entertainment.

But these games can make us more violent. With the confidence that comes from winning a battle, it may affect people. Especially kids. Kids may apply the violent actions they see in games or try to jump off the balcony to test if they can fly or reincarnate when they die. Well, that is not possible. These games may affect the behavior of the kid in bad way, so I don’t recommend kids to play violent games at an early age because the mind of a kid is not mature enough to parse real and unreal. For adult or teenagers, if this is a battle game, when people lose they become aggressive and hurt the people they love by insulting or hitting. That is a temporary anger may be worth irrevocable regrets and thousands of unforgivable apologies. So it is important not to forget that this is just a game, nothing serious happens when you lose. You can win next time. This is a social problem.
