Schools Are Everywhere

Wherever, at any age, everyone may engage in the experience of learning new information. We continue to use and benefit from newly acquired knowledge throughout our lives. People receive the education they will need all their life at school. Accordingly, do we require a facility called a school where people can learn new things, or can learning happen anywhere?

The foundation of education is the school. Nowadays, a lot of people make future decisions there. Students are supposed to learn new things in school. There is no denying the importance of the knowledge taught in schools, but it is not particularly critical where this knowledge is acquired. You may gain the same information in a four-walled structure as you would in the middle of a jungle. The main component that defines a school as a school is learning.

A school is more than simply a physical structure. Think of a vacant building. Inside this structure, there should be classrooms, workstations, and laboratories. Although there are all physical facilities in the school, if there was no one in this building, we cannot refer to this structure as a school. Teachers and students are what defines a school as what it is. If the information to be taught will not be learned by the students and will fly in the air, or if the students do not have a teacher from whom they can learn something, there is no point. Therefore, the idea of a school is more than just a physical location.

We can exemplify many places in the world where the school can be anywhere.

One of these instances is the recent earthquake that occurred in our nation. With the earthquake that struck our nation, schools were only one of the numerous buildings that sustained damage. But despite this, individuals continued to learn, and eventually, some tents were turned into classrooms. This is how the tents were converted into a school.

As a result of a lack of funding and resources to construct schools, students in several undeveloped African nations study outside. Despite everything, these children learn at their outside desks. Now the school has become the middle of a forest. Although the place is different in both examples, the knowledge and the experience gained are the same.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, students in many parts of the world could not go to school due to quarantines and curfews. But that didn’t stop students from learning and teachers from teaching. Thanks to the advanced technology, online lessons were held and the lessons were learned again. The school had become homes this time.

There can be education without a school building. Every place where there is education is a school, no matter where it is. The important thing is the acquired knowledge. As Francis Bacon said, “Knowledge is power.”
