Refugees

Refugees are people who have been forced to leave their country. Nowadays this is usually due to wars breaking out in their home country. This leads to a refugee crisis in the world and causes problems for many nations. In the first few months of 2022, the number of people that were displaced by war has increased past 100 million for the first time in history. Today I’m going to discuss whatever or not it would better for the world if all the countries adopted the same policy against refugees. The reason this topic is important is some countries welcome refugees with open arms while some open fire at them.

As I mentioned in the opening, there is usually a big difference in how countries welcome refugees. The reason why I think it would be better if all countries had the same policy for welcoming refugees is because if some countries accept them and others don’t it creates a problem for the places that allow refugees. It is also important to consider the fact that refugees are humans protected by human rights and every country should be obligated to accept refugees if a war is happening.

When we talk about the number of refugees we need to remember that they are not numbers, they are human beings. Countries should provide them with livelihoods, ensure their access to healthcare, education and other services. Refugees have several problems and one country can not solve the problems so countries should implement same policies.

As refugees reach their destination to a new place, there will be other challenges waiting for them to face. If they do not speak the language of the host country, it would be difficult for them to explain their needs. Communication is the first and the fundamental link that all human relations are built on. Learning the country’s language is also linked to each country’s government’s facilities. They provide educational courses to help refugees learn the country’s language and culture. All host countries may provide language courses for refugees.

Countries should be aware of the psychological needs of refugees. They can have experienced trauma related to war or persecution that may affect their mental and physical health long after the events have occurred. It is important to develop psychological support programs for refugees. These programs can implement for all refugees
As a conclusion, refugees have common problems and host countries should take responsible actions against these problems.
