Turkey’s Republic Day, celebrated on October 29th, is a momentous occasion that commemorates the establishment of the Republic of Turkey in 1923. Before the day of 29 of October (28 of October) Mustafa Kemal Atatürk gave good news to his comrades in arms. He said that he is going to declare a republic for Ottoman Empire. When he said that, their comrades in arms look into schok in his face. Because they know that it is going to be hard for ever single pearson that who lives in Ottoman Empire. But Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was so confident and determined about his new plan. When his comrades in arms saw that he is so determined about the transformation and about the indipendence, than they  said that they are going to do whatever they have to do and whatever it takes. When Mustafa Kemal Atatürk saw their friends behavior, he  made his final decision. ‘He is going to declare independence! ‘

At the day of 29 of October The Turkish nation, led by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, successfully concluded the struggle for independence and declared the Republic of Turkey. After that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was elected as the first President of the Republic of Turkey. After these days innovations start to come day by day. The abolition of the caliphate, the alphabet revolution, women having political rights, and the transition to the surname law are just some of these innovations.

As a result, the republic was declared on October 29, and many beautiful changes took place in our country after that day. After 1923, this day was officially accepted as our national holiday in the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This year, 100 years have passed since the declaration of our republic and we will celebrate our 100th anniversary. Ataturk and those who made innovations at that time are in our hearts and will always remain there.
