Reading or Writing: which is more effective?

Every person has different ways of studying and learning new things, some understand things by writing but some can learn by reading better. When we look at the society we could see that most people think that they learn better by writing. But is it true? Or do they waste time with writing?

Most of the students- especially high-school students- study for their lessons by writing everything that they have learnt in school. They think that they can remember the notes that they have taken in the exams better but psychologists suggest that this only makes the student remember the topic written for a short time. Moreover, add that this causes a time loss at studying.

However, some students said that when they tried different ways to learn they failed and it did not work for them. By writing they thought they could spend more time maybe but remember things better and they do not only memorise them, really learn them. Nevertheless, they said when they tried to study by reading their coursebooks, they only remembered the information for a really short time. Some also added that when they only read their coursebook 2 days before the exam, they could not remember some of the important points at the exam while the ones who studied by writing could remember those.

To conclude, writing takes much more time than reading but the majority of the students suggest that they learn things with writing better and be more successful in their exams. Additionally, they say that they feel better after studying by writing because they think that they have really worked hard for their exams and this gives the students comfort and less stress.
