Power of Our Dreams

Every one of us has heard this question. “If you have given a superpower, what you would want it to be?”. Besides those most obvious options, I always wanted to manipulate the time. So the answer is clear, right? Actually no! The question appeared from nowhere stuck in my mind. So do I want this to see the future or to change the past? Which one is more optimal?

If I could see the future, I could potentially use this knowledge to make better decisions in the present. For example, I could use this ability to avoid danger, make investments that are likely to pay off, or plan for events that are coming up. I could also potentially use this knowledge to help others by warning them of potential dangers or giving them advice on what to do in the future.

On the other hand, seeing the future might also have some drawbacks. For example, knowing the future might remove some of the excitement and uncertainty from life, as you would already know what is going to happen. Additionally, knowing the future might make it difficult to make choices, as you would already know the outcome of any decision you make. Finally, seeing the future might not always be accurate, as it could be influenced by your actions or the actions of others.

If I could change the past, I could potentially use this ability to correct mistakes or regrets from my past or to help others do the same. For example, I could use this ability to prevent accidents or tragedies from happening or to correct my old self’s mistakes which the outcomes still follow me every day. It would also help whit the idea of “dying without any regret”.

However, changing the past might also have some drawbacks. For example, changing the past could have unintended consequences that could ripple forward into the present and future. For example, changing a small event in the past could have a cascading effect on future events, potentially leading to a completely different present and future than the one that exists now. Additionally, changing the past might be difficult, as it could require a lot of effort and resources to identify and fix the specific events that need to be changed. Even, changing the past might not always be possible, as certain events might be fixed in time and unable to be changed.

In conclusion, both the ability to see the future and change the past have potential benefits and drawbacks, and it’s difficult to say which option would be better overall. But as this unanswered question reminds in my mind such as my regrets, it wouldn’t be inappropriate to say that in some specific scenarios we all would love to have one of them.
