Paradoxical Travel

Finally, the time has come. I was hot and tense at the same time as I stood in the messy laboratory, surrounded by tools, drawings and half-finished prototypes, having invented the first-time machine in history without despairing, thanks to faith in this possible moment, long hours of continuous research, many years of tinkering and success.

The time machine itself was a simple device; It was an elegant console with a central bright, rotating core surrounded by numerous buttons, with a small screen above the buttons. I took a deep breath as my heart pounded like a drum in my chest. What stood before me was truly a time machine. With this time machine, we went back in time and saw what happened when the grandfather created a paradox. The grandfather paradox is a complex situation in which, considering the cause of the death of the time traveler’s grandfather, it is explained that it is impossible for the time traveler to be born. In this case, it is also possible for the time traveler to kill his grandfather.

I turned on the machine and made the necessary adjustments to go back to 1950, when my grandfather was 10 years old. By pressing a few keys, I entered the year and location I wanted on the console screen, and the core in the middle suddenly started spinning. The core, which was spinning very fast, was creating such energy that when it started to pull me in, along with the objects around me, I started to grow like pasta. I had lost all my reality. In this incident that took place within seconds, I suddenly found myself in the middle of a street while I thought I was dead. Children were playing ball among the shopkeepers. I knew that one of these children was my grandfather. In the trauma he told me about when he was a child, he nearly escaped death thanks to his friend. When a boy brought his father’s World War I rifle just for the fun of it and tried to fire it without knowing that it was loaded, his friend put the gun down at the last moment. Otherwise, the barrel was pointed at my grandfather and my grandfather would die. I was going to stop his friend from lowering the rifle and see what would happen.

There were only a few minutes left for the incident to happen. The boy was coming from the end of the street with a rifle in his hand. I lost sight of my grandfather and his friend for a moment when everyone gathered around him. While I was trying to find them immediately, the rifle had already been fired. I couldn’t stop it and the past had not changed. I was reprogramming the machine to try again, but something went wrong every time, and I couldn’t stop it and the past never changed. 20. After my experience, I accepted that the flow of life was like this and did not try to prevent it, I returned to the present and started working on new inventions.
