Online Education

Would you like to attend your classes in your pajamas? Well, in traditional classroom learning you have to go to actual school so you have to wear a uniform. But in online learning you don’t have to go through all that trouble, the only thing you have to do is to turn on your computer. So why does the majority of students go to actual school?

First of all, online learning means that you study remotely. What I mean is that you can attend your classes wherever you want via internet platforms. Also the timetable isn’t as strict as actual school schedules. Moreover, online learning is way cheaper than traditional classroom learning. The important thing is that online learning isn’t the same as being home-schooled. Because not all homeschooling needs internet access. So, if online schools are that comfortable why do many students go to traditional schools? Actually, there are many reasons. The most important reason in this case is the “friend factor”. In online learning you don’t socialize that much. But humans are social beings, so a student usually needs a friend by their side. And another con is that your home starts to feel like an house. You don’t feel comfortable or connected to your home since you spend most of your time there. Just imagine, after a long and draining day would you like to stay at school or just escape to your home, where you feel comfortable? Well, in online learning you really don’t have that choice to escape home since you are already there. So after a while everything gets gray and boring.

In traditional classroom learning you have many friends, so you are never alone. And at a young age people need to socialize in order to have strong social skills. Also, there are way more networking possibilities in going to a virtual school than online learning. Going to a virtual school is usually more enjoyable than online learning cause there are some classes which you can interact with more peers like; PE, clubs, computer sciences… Well, in online learning you don’t have any of those classes since there is no one to interact with. But, online schooling requires a high level of self-discipline and if a student can handle it well there is a high chance of success for the students future. Also in online learning the student haves some more time to themselves, which is a key to mental well-being.

In a nutshell, I stand by the idea that traditional classroom learning is better than online learning cause having fun while learning is a key to happiness. Also, being surrounded by friends makes you feel joyful. And I think that separating school and home is very important since home is where you feel safe and comfortable. Moreover, the strict timetable makes the students more punctual and responsible. I don’t think I would do a great job if I was going to an online school.
