A couple of days from now, on 29th of October, as I am writing this will be the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkiye and no possible words or pages can explain my feelings abouit this. I would like to explain the importance of this day in general.
29 October 1923 Turkiye was officially a republic. Thanks to our heroic soldires, devoted public and most of all our one and only Ataturk our country was reborn. Our people got through the was with not only hope. They gave their all for their country to become modern, their voice to be heard and most of all their children, grandchildren and their children to live in a country where they have rights. If it weren’t for them I wouldn’t be able to go to school, have my rights to speak or even worse I wouldn’ be free in my own country.
29th of October is celebrated very passionatley each year by everyone. It is even the only day that every single workplace in Turkiye is closed so that everyone can celebrate the day. That alone should explain how important this day is for us. Every year on 29th of October I am fulfilled with another kind of joy. The kind that no one could umderstand untill they experiance it. As I said before no kinds of words could ever explain how greatful I am for this day because it is the resemblance that I am livimg in a free country, and that I am free but especially because while I am celebrating having a right I am also thanking the ones who provided this for me, I am thanking my great leader Ataturk for fighting for me and this country.
Apart from this day being one of the most importand days for the Turkish every year, This year is its 100th year and because of that there is another kind of excitement for everyone. This year will be a 100 years of our country making a step forward to be a contemporary, leading country. This year will be a 100 years of our people living in their country with freedom and with an opinion that is respected. This is a 100 years of Turkiye being a republic. And last but not least, this is the 100th year of us thanking Ataturk and being greatful of him.
I have so much to express but there are very little amount of words for me to do so. If anyone really wants to fully understand what I mean I suggest they experience one of our celebrations.
