MY DREAM

Helen woke up on the morning of March 8th. The day started normally. She got ready and went outside. As she stepped out, she first thought it was a dream. She was scared when she realized it was real. There were no men outside.

The simit seller was a woman, the bus driver was a woman, the taxi drivers were women—everyone was a woman. Helen was scared and wanted to call her father. She saw an old woman walking with her dog on the street and asked her to borrow her cell phone because she wanted to call her father. The woman asked in surprise, “What is a father?” Helen was shocked. How could it be? Had all the men disappeared from the world? She explained what a father meant: “A man and a woman have children and become mom and dad.” The woman asked again, “So what is a man?” Helen was shocked even more. She missed her father so much already.

Then her mother and father entered the room. They told her it was just a dream. Helen woke up, got ready, and went to school. She was very happy to see there were men on the street.
