Meeting With Someone

I have studied all my life to meet a mathematician I could talk to. So when I went to the Nobel Prize Ceremony, I hoped to see Aziz Sancar. I didn’t expect it, but when I saw him standing right in front of me, my heart nearly jumped out of my chest.

He smiled and said, “You look like a good person. Can I talk with you?”

I was shocked but immediately accepted. We went to a café next to the ceremony, and he mentioned that I could help with one of his projects. I could hardly believe what I was hearing. Working with Aziz Sancar felt like a dream.

As the years passed, I dedicated myself to the project, learning more than I ever imagined. Then, in 2056, when our project was finally completed, I stood beside him as we received the Nobel Prize together.

At that moment, I realized—I had become the new Aziz Sancar.
