From the perspective of reliability and effectiveness, which is stronger: social media or
traditional media? Considering reliability and effectiveness, both social media and traditional media have their strengths and weaknesses.
Media is one of the means or channels of general communication, information, or entertainment in society, as newspapers, radio, or television. It has two types, traditional and social media.
Traditional media is one type that is used for long years and its still used. This shows no matter the time its has been used, it is still seen as a reliable source. It is done by different types of communication tools and have different sources; it also includes things like newspapers, television, radio, and magazines etc.. There are many production stages and different steps in the traditional media industry such as production, printing, publishing, research etc.. Also there are many professions and many workers working in these different branche such as professional reporters and journalists. Considering these, we can prove the wideness of the traditional media industry, and clearly see that it gives an accuracy to the news.
On the other hand social media refers to websites and applications that allow users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. These platforms enable people to connect with others, share information, opinions, and media such as photos and videos. Examples of social media platforms include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and TikTok. As there are many platforms and users included in social media, the reliabilty gets effected from this. False information and news can be sometimes created and spread .
In terms of effectiveness, both social media and traditional media have their strengths. Traditional media reaches kinda more broad audience through its general platforms. It’s a reliable way to reach people of all ages . Social media, on the other hand, offers targeted advertising and allows for real-time interaction with audiences. It’s particularly effective for reaching younger generations who are more active on social media platforms.
In conclusion, both social media and traditional media have their advantages and disadvantages in terms of reliability and effectiveness. Traditional media has a long history and more reliablity on news, but social media offers instant communication and targeted advertising. And considering all these ı think that the choice between the two depends on individual preferences, needs and changes due to generations.
