In 2035, Earth was running out of resources, so people started looking for other planets to live on. A total of 340 scientists were sent to 17 planets. They would work for 10 months and send their results back to Earth. I am one of the scientists. We are a small group of 20 people here, conducting research. I didn’t know the other scientists well at first, but we became friends quickly.
Living on Mars sounds fun, but it’s very tiring. We had to grow our own food. We only ate potatoes, but at least we had ketchup, which made it a bit better. We slept for 4 hours a day and worked a lot with few breaks. We took samples and conducted research. We were all exhausted, but thanks to new technology, if we slept for 1 hour, it felt like 3 hours.
Living on Mars doesn’t scare me, but I feel nervous because I am on a different planet. In 2029, NASA announced that aliens exist, but we don’t know what they are like. This makes me a little scared, though I feel safer knowing we have advanced technology and weapons. Our house here is made of strong materials, but I still feel a bit uneasy.
When people choose a planet to live on, they will compare research results. I think Mars will not be chosen. Mars had water a long time ago, but now it has none. Two weeks ago, we discovered underground water, but its pH level is 7.9, which is too high. Maybe we will find better water later.
Mars is not suitable for farming. Perhaps special seeds could grow here, but we don’t know if it’s safe. Because of this, I believe Mars is not an ideal place to live, but maybe we will discover better information in the future.
