LIVING THE PAST

I’ve been working on my new invention for a long time. It’s been almost four years. I was learning from my mistakes and improving the machine. One day I thought I was done; I was going to get into it and finally experience those times, but the electricity went out. So I started checking the machine, thinking that maybe it had some meaning. Seriously though, it might have been timed incorrectly and couldn’t bring me back to the current time. I had about a year or two to fix these issues. So, I had a total of six years of work, and I never wanted it to be thrown away, so I never even showed it to a single person. Once I was sure, I got into the machine and was nervous. If I couldn’t return to the present, I could die. I took this risk and pressed the button.

It was now October 29, 1923. Everyone’s clothing was more modern and civilized than in 2024. Everyone was very excited. Suddenly a man started talking, and with one sentence, everyone started shouting and clapping. This sentence was, “Today we declare the republic.” Some people’s tears were flowing, some were laughing, but there was no sadness; those were tears that represented happiness, excitement, pride, and many other beautiful emotions. The past was beautiful, but I lived it for only a short time because my time was running out. If I didn’t go back, I might get caught. So I moved quickly and tried to find a good spot for myself. While I was moving, I dropped the remote control with the button on it, so I had to go back.

I found it in no time, but before I could get it, someone stepped on it. I was back in my own time, but the remote was still there, and if someone didn’t completely destroy it, problems might arise…
