Oh, last week was such a headache that no one would believe me if I told them about my week. Whatever the people say, I need to talk. Where should I even start to explain, from the golden touch or the lightning? The river in the middle of the street may be the place that I should start. But I will start with the unstoppable rain.
Last Thursday was the start of the rain. The clouds were forming groups. The sky was the greyest of all time. Every living organism went to its shelter to protect from the rain and every inanimate thing was begging to be sheltered. The rain had the roads be riverbeds. Water filled the roads; they were nearly overflowing! Suddenly a dozen of lightning struck and electrocuted the water. This caused a power cut and everyone took to the streets. Oh, poor me… By accident, I fell into the electrocuted water. I remember that I had some kind of shock and fainting.
By the time I was awake, my hands were bandaged. My best friend, Pelin, was sitting next to me. When she was me that I was awake, Pelin bombarded me with questions like “How are you feeling?”, “How did this happen to you?” and “Do you know how long you have been unconscious!” I was a little bit dizzy but, in the end, I couldn’t follow her questions. “I’m alright, Pelin, it was just a little faint. I’m no hurt, see; I said and took off the bandages. I guess I was still dizzy because when I tried to get up, I couldn’t stand up and dropped Pelin’s wooden bracelet. It turned into color gold immediately. Shocked, I said: “Pelin, am I mistaken, or is there a golden bracelet right under my foot?” Pelin took her bracelet and bit it. It was soft and Pelin could leave her bite mark. That could only mean one thing: The bracelet turned into gold like alchemists, and I had the golden touch.
The only golden touch was Midas’s. In his myth, we were told the golden touch was regretful and painful. Also, he was the king. Nobody could do a thing to him. He was the one and only government. Then my face got darkened. What was I going to do? I was not the government; I was pretty sure that I was going to be a guinea pig when authorized find me. By the way, how was I going to eat or drink or fulfill my basic needs? The woe is me!
I looked out the window. Rain was still going on. The only choice left for me was falling into the river again. Pelin tried to stop me but I still did. This time, I needed more time to wake up but I eventually did. The second I awoke; I touched my bed and it didn’t turn to gold. A smile of relaxation spread across my face.
