According to the United Nations (UN), around 9 million people die each year from hunger or hunger-related causes. Many of these deaths are directly linked to extreme poverty, where access to food, clean water, and healthcare is limited. Money is a medium of exchange that facilitates the buying and selling of goods and services. In my opinion, it is worse to not have enough money.
One reason is that poverty causes disease. Poor living conditions have negative effects on people’s health. Lack of food, water, and underdevelopment of organs are all factors that contribute to bad diseases. Not having a place to live or having a place to live but without heating, to sleep, to live in cold places causes problems with health.
In addition, do not have opportunities to basic needs, like education. A part of people in the world can not read and write. With the global adult population standing at over 5.5 billion people, about 758 million adults worldwide are unable to read or write in any language. While other children go to kindergarten, studying in the best schools, some children are unable to get even a basic education simply because of a lack of opportunity. As a result, they don’t even have an idea about the world. They cannot build a certain future; because of poverty, they cannot live like others, study, travel, or have a profession.
Furthermore, they do not have opportunities to participate in certain things because of social differences. It also leads to many crimes, such as theft. People from disadvantaged backgrounds may not have the financial means to participate in social, cultural, or recreational activities, which are often seen as gateways to personal development, networking, and community involvement.
In conclusion, having not enough money is far more detrimental than having too much. Poverty leads to dire consequences, such as poor health, lack of access to education, and limited opportunities for personal growth. Millions of people suffer from hunger, disease, and not being able to read or write because they don’t have enough money. They also miss out on social and cultural activities, which can lead to crime in some cases. While having too much money can have its own issues, not having enough money causes more harm, and it’s harder to escape. Solving poverty and giving people access to basic needs can improve lives and help create more equal opportunities for everyone.
