Occupational gender discrimination is wrong because it restricts people’s work lives because they are male or female. Whatever gender you are, a woman or a man is a human being after all, professions should not be separated according to genders.
Occupational gender discrimination is mostly done to women. The advancement of women in business life is made difficult because of this discrimination. All people are equal and should have equal rights. For example, women are restricted from playing professional football. Football is recognized as a male-specific sport. However, female football players such as Alexia Putellas, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, Mia Hamm, Wendie Renard, Nilla Fischer are footballers who have written their name in the history of football, which shows that men and women can be equally successful.
Occupational gender discrimination is wrong because it affects the career choices of students like us in the wrong way. A female student who wants to become a mining engineer does not prefer to study in this field, being guided by it as a male profession. The fact that people choose professions according to gender instead of choosing professions that can be successful prevents a profession in which they can be successful. A man who wants to become a fashionista will not choose this, as it is perceived as a female profession. In this case, while he will be more successful when he becomes a fashionista, he will not be successful when I choose another profession.
Professions should be determined and chosen not by gender, but by people’s interests and abilities. The separation of professions by gender will primarily negatively affect personal success and social success in general.
