I am sure that you have heard of the quote “A good start is half the job done.” once. But, did it ever occur to you that a good start can often predict the future? Let’s take a look.
There are many idioms and quotes about having a good start; the idioms which mentions having a good start usually means that, having a good start is the same as getting the half work done. Of course this statement varies from person to person. Generally when you have a good start at something, you feel like the good start is a sign that your work is going to turn out brilliant. But what if you have a bad start?
A bad start doesn’t always mean failure. A bad start can destroy your motivation, however, it can be understood as a sign that you should pluck up your courage and try harder. It is true that sometimes a bad start can lead to failure, but you should keep in mind that even a good start may fail.
There is a belief that a good start can predict the future, but there is no precise information about the statement. Human psychology usually tends to focus on the good, so if the situation isn’t going well human brain starts to look for a sign. That sign could be anything. Even an obstacle could be seen as a sign. Although for some people it may seem like “Pollyannaism” to look for a sign, for some people these sought-after signs are a source of motivation. According to pessimistic people looking for a sign to do something effective is non-sense and it is a waste of precious time. However, looking for a valid sign to do something effective means a lot to optimistic people.
I think that a good start might lead to a successful work, only if we try our best. Even though things may start out bad can turn out pretty well. Without hardwork a good start means absolutely nothing. I don’t really believe that a bad start can screw up the whole process. I think that a good start is just a good sign which may boost our motivation. In fact, I like to look for signs while I’m working on a project.
To sum up everything that has been stated so far we can say that a good start may not always predict the future, but it can boost our motivation while we are working on a project. Also a bad start doesn’t always lead to a bad conclusion. With enough enthusiasm we can achieve whatever we want. The only thing that matters is our endeavor.
