Historical Importance;
October 29th celebrated as Republic Day, in Turkey holds a place in the hearts of all Turks. It commemorates the moment in 1923 when the Turkish Republic was officially declared. This event holds value as it symbolizes Turkeys transition from an empire, to a contemporary secular nation state.
Celebrations in Turkey:
On the 29th of October, everyone stops woorking(like a public holiday) and celebrates the proclamation of the Republic of the Turkey all the day with Turkish flags in their hands and with the fireworks which never stop until the day ends. Most of the people are going to Anıtkabir(tomb of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk) to be with their hero and celebrate together. On every 29th of October,Anıtkabir(tomb of Atatürk)is always crowded with Turkiish people and a lot of tourists. Because of that most of the students and other organisations are booking another day to visit Anıtkabir. On 29th of October if you go out in Turkey. The turkish flags hanging down from anywhere you can think of, maybe you can hear the Turk’s independence anthem too
Who is Mustafa Kemal Atatürk?
Mustafa Kemal Ataturk is the first president of Turkey and the “hero” of Turkish people. The reason for taht it that he saved the country which was going to be lost. Without him, there wouldn’t be a language called “Turkish”.

On the 100th anniversary of the Republic, I commemorate Atatürk with love and longing, who created this country from nothing, declared the republic, and helped us to live comfortably today.
