Movies nowadays are almost everywhere in the internet. They are loved and cherished by many, and thats for a reason. There are good and bad movies about almost any topic you can think of which makes them one of the most important things in our lives. But that begs the question, how far can an actual good movies influence go in our daily life?
Movies can actually have more of an affect in our lives than you think. From something thats simple as a handshake you do with your friends or the design of your room to entire towns and lifestyles being changed by movies is a common occurrence in our time, and its not just physical changes, but also different concepts and ideologies. Mostly because peoples perception on things can be altered quite easily by movies. This happens for the reason that movies in our generation are way easier to exchange thoughts and discuss about since people with common intrests and thoughts can find and interract with eachother way easier than ever before. And this goes from two people changing eachothers look on a certain movie to millions of people way faster than we know it. A great example can be the concept of love.
Love is a complicated thing that can be explained in many different ways. Some say that its feeling like home around a certain other and some say that its just an unexplainable force of nature. While love is a concept that can be explained in many different ways, how is it portrayed in movies? Well for starters, most peoples, usually teenagers, idea of love comes from movies. In certain movies, the relationships, personalities and character designs can cause peoples standarts to change and their idea of love to develop. This is further proven if we compare a bunch of 40-60 year olds view on relationships with a bunch of 15-25 year olds.
An example I find very intresting is how mentally ill people are affected by movies. Being a good actor is a hard job, but acting out these types of struggles presents a whole new level of difficulty. Which is probably why when its done right, its a loved movie. Although these movies definitely gives us a new perspective on mental illnesses, the way this changes people can differ from movie to movie. Depending on the depiction them, it can give some people reasons to hate on mentally ill people, or it can make people emphatise with them and understand their struggles.
Another great example would be on how it effects our view on the goverment and society. The movie “Joker” for instance is a movie loved by a lot of people and in my opinion, the movie deserves it. Due to it being such an enjoyable movie overall, it gained insane traction all over the internet. But this also led to people diving deeper into the idea and the meaning behind the movie. Joker is a movie that discusses the flaws in our society without holding back, depicting the people in the movie being inspired by Joker’s words and thoughts. But its not just the people in the movie being inspired, but also the people watching the movie. Ironically, just like in the show there has been multiple times where people organise protests just off of the movies representation of our world. And it is undeniable proof that right or wrong, movies have the ability to change the very core of our society.
So, how far can movies affect our daily life? Almost every aspect of it, physical, social idological. Whether it has too much of an impact or too little, or if it is good or bad is up to your perception of it. But its very clear that movies are incredibly important parts of the internet, therefore our lives. We are in the age of technology, and its about time that we are aware of it.
