Illusion of a Breakthrough

Society contains many people in a system. The reason why this system and its people should keep it together is because we need each other to operate. This is how we evolved to a point where survival isn’t what it was before. This is why kids start school and learn at the age they do. They learn things and apply them to become successful in this human-made jungle. They become all types of people. But is the road to hell worse than hell itself?

Us humans have a comically small period of history, yet we have had so many different people’s names written in books. This isn’t really important in my opinion, as what is the point really? It’s befalling how many of us live on this rock simultaneously. Does anyone really care that a random plane full of terrorists crashed into an incredibly boring and not at all important building…… twice? Well America did but it hasn’t even been that long, and native people make jokes about it constantly with no issue whatsoever. Now imagine about a 16-year-old who got called weird one too many times because she won’t accept the fact that she can’t make up genders every 2 seconds as she needs constant attention and shot up her school. I mean, “Womp womp, cry about it.” is what others say after two weeks of it being removed from the headlines. They simply don’t care and can you blame them? We live in a capitalist world where everyone is too busy trying to play rent and die right. Hell, by the time the 3rd moon mission came up people didn’t care. Then the command module blew up and suddenly it was interesting but that’s not the point.

They say: “It’s not what we do in life, but what we will become that matters.” I simply disagree…. on both sides of the spectrum. No one wins. You don’t matter, that is if you are not the president of the United States but that isn’t the point either. As a matter of fact, if your lifeless body was swinging from the ceiling, you would be worth just as much to the world as if you continued to live. That is the magic of the current reality. There is so many of us that even if you were to be Albert Einstein, Mary Curie or even Hitler as time passes what you did will be obsolete. As time passes it becomes more likely that a different guy or gal will become the new face of science or the most important, if he or she wasn’t. Newton did all this stuff back in the 1600`s but realistically speaking back in the day it meant a board full of equations and not much more compared to today. Almost 400 years passed, and you are telling me nothing and no one could have changed physics in another way that would make us more advanced today? His ideas meant absolutely NOTHING in comparison to what they mean now. There wasn’t any technology that could come close to working the equations he found into real life on any meaningful scale. It is actually really funny how this guy and many others like him don’t matter for their time when you think about it. They people died without any compensation for their work. Sure, there is the feeling of completion but what else? Cool, you made a new spaceship that, theoretically, could bend space time however your idea means nothing at that time. You will die before that ship could even begin production. Your work, your blueprints, your math but the creator won’t see his creation work. What now, people are going to argue how you wouldn’t be alive if this happened, or this didn’t, yeah like just ignore how many infinitely possible possibilities have to be lined up perfectly for that to happen just as you described it.

I don’t believe in the afterlife and even if there is an afterlife it doesn’t matter as no one remembers their past life. The things that others did only affect you years later. Names don’t matter in history; someone could have found something five years later or before and nothing changes in the long run. He did not matter, you won’t matter, I don’t either. It is just the illusion of a breakthrough and really, it’s just based on the roll of the dice. Do nothing or do something, you more than likely won’t benefit from it as much as others will hundreds of years later. As far as I am aware being selfless is just charity in an apocalypse. Oh yeah, that’s capitalism right there!
