One could effortlessly argue that How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is a lovely, heartwarming movie. Andie Anderson, played by Kate Hudson, and Ben Barry, played by Matthew McConaughey, are both likable characters with frequent sparks between them. Yes, I would suggest my childhood film to fans of foolish romantic comedies.
Andie works as the “How To Girl” for Composure magazine, which describes itself as the “Fastest growing women’s magazine in the country.” Despite her Columbia University Master’s degree in journalism and a strong desire to write about politics or religion, her editor required that she write parts about dating, makeup, and clothing. So, for her newest work, she has chosen to trick a guy into asking her out, then prove that he won’t last ten days with her by demonstrating every bad attribute a woman can utilize in a relationship (Being clingy, self-absorbed, envious, etc.). It’s a relationship building “How Not To” manual.
But he’s not just in it for the girl. He’s bet his advertising firm colleagues that he can make Andie fall in love with him in ten days. If he wins the bet, his employer promises to give him control of a large account as well. Of course, Ben is unaware of Andie’s plans, and likewise. So, for the following week and a half, Andie attempts all she can to get Ben to abandon her, but Ben endures, counting down the days until he can obtain the account and run screaming away from Andie. As it is, the most delightful chuckles occur when the film flows beyond .
Kate Hudson, the energetic actress, has shown to be quite successful at one type of part. Matthew McConaughey is an excellent match. So, I would recommend this movie for those like me. The chemistry between the actors always made me feel excited while watching this movie. Well who doesn’t like a cheesy rom-com.
