Happiness Is Not Something That You Have To Win

Moji is a puppy who lives in Pet Town. In this town, there are only pets, like hamsters, ponies, cats, dogs, and more. Moji has two friends, Lily and Yoko. Lily is a lethargic kitten, and Yoko is a cute and famous guinea pig. Despite their differences, both love music. Together, they have a music group called Best Music Forever, and they are fans of Mia Cheetah.

One day, the three friends were walking to school when Lily started talking.

Lily:
“Guys, I’m very excited!”

Moji:
“Why, Lily? Today is just a normal day.”

Lily:
“Yesterday, I saw a banner about Mia Cheetah. It said, ‘Do you want to meet Mia Cheetah? If so, you can join our music competition!’

Yoko:
“I want to join this competition!”

Moji:
“Me too!”

Lily:
“Let’s register!”

They rushed to sign up for the competition.

Yoko:
“Phew, we got the last spot!”

Moji hesitated and then said:
“Um, guys…”

Lily:
“What happened, Moji?”

Moji:
“Um, my little sister Bailey broke my electric guitar.”

Yoko:
“Oh, Moji! How can you join the competition without your guitar?”

“I have an idea!” Yoko exclaimed.

Lily and Moji (shocked):
“What?!”

Yoko:
“We can collect money to buy a new electric guitar.”

Lily:
“But how? Moji’s electric guitar is so expensive!”

Yoko:
“Oh… I don’t know.”

Moji:
“I know!”

Moji suddenly ran off.

Lily:
“Wait, Moji! Ugh, I don’t want to run!”

Yoko:
“Moji, what’s your idea?”

Moji:
“We can sell lemonade and biscuits! The animals in Pet Town love lemonade and biscuits.”

Lily’s eyes sparkled.

Lily:
“Can I drink lemonade or eat biscuits too?”

Moji:
“Yes, Lily, you may.”

When the weekend arrived, they started making their stand. They painted it and wrote LEMONADE on the front. It looked beautiful.

Lily made lemonade, Moji baked biscuits, and Yoko found glasses for the lemonade. After the weekend, they started selling their snacks. Slowly, they collected enough money to buy a new guitar.

Once they had enough money, they went to the music shop owned by Miss Coco, a beautiful Golden Retriever with long, golden fur.

Moji:
“Hello, Miss Coco.”

Miss Coco:
“Hello, Moji! Hello, Lily! Hello, Yoko!”

Moji:
“My sister broke my electric guitar. I need a new one.”

Miss Coco:
“How much money do you have? I’ll see what I can find.”

Yoko:
“We have $150, Miss Coco.”

Miss Coco:
“Oh no! With that amount, you can only buy a toy guitar.”

Disappointed, the friends left the shop.

Lily and Yoko:
“Moji, don’t be sad!”

Yoko (jokingly):
“If you want, I can give you a drum instead!”

Moji:
“Thank you, guys, for trying to help me. But it didn’t work. Maybe I shouldn’t join the competition.”

Lily:
“No! You must join because we’re a group!”

Yoko:
“I agree. You’re an important part of Best Music Forever.

Moji:
“Thank you, guys.”

When the competition day arrived, Moji was very worried. He couldn’t play with his group. Lily tried to comfort him, but Moji began to cry.

Suddenly, someone came over and spoke to him.

???
“Hello! Can I help you?”

Moji looked up and gasped.
“Yes! Oh… you’re Mia Cheetah!”

Mia Cheetah:
“That’s right. Why are you crying?”

Moji:
“My electric guitar is broken, and I can’t play with my friends.”

Mia Cheetah:
“Oh, Moji, I love my guitar, but I’d like to give it to you.”

Moji:
“Really?!”

Mia Cheetah:
“Yes.”

Moji hugged Mia Cheetah and said, “Thank you!”

With Mia’s guitar, Moji and his friends performed their song. Although they didn’t win, they were thrilled to have met Mia Cheetah. Moji, Yoko, and Lily went home happy, knowing they had given it their best.
