Green Rain Adventure

One day it started to rain green instead of blue from the sky and everything changed. No one could make sense of this mysterious green rain falling from the sky. The whole internet was buzzing with news of these green droplets falling from the sky. From China to America, from America to New Zealand, all countries were trying to solve this phenomenon. As an anchor, I was also trying to do detailed research to broadcast this natural phenomenon on the news channels, but unfortunately it was not working. I was researching fast with the stress of something happening to my family, but I couldn’t come to a conclusion. The greenness in the sky had only been there for 3 hours, but when I typed the letter “W” in the search pages, the first search that came up was “What is the reason for the greenness in the sky?”. I was feeling very bad that I couldn’t be with my family living in Turkey even though I live in England. I wasn’t going to call them so as not to stress them more, but I couldn’t resist and called my father. Before I could ask, “Is everything okay?” my father jumped in. “Alice, you need to buy a flight ticket and come here immediately. Your brother, me and your mom are so scared for you, please, please come.” I was very surprised by this jump because my father is normally a very cold-blooded person. It was raining green and just as I was about to answer, the power went out. There might still be electricity in Turkey, so they might have thought I hung up on them. This thought stressed me out because then they would think that something had happened to me.

After I had cleared my head, I went back to my deep research. I spent hours without going to sleep just researching this, but to no avail. As a last resort, I fell asleep thinking, “The next day the green hell will end.” In my dream I saw my mother, father and brother, all of them looking at me with desperate eyes, as if they were asking for help. I woke up suddenly from the nightmare and immediately packed my things and went to the airport. It was 5 a.m. I felt very lucky, because at 7 am all flights were officially canceled, but I had made it! Unexpectedly, I saw my Turkish neighbor at the airport. She must have been very worried about her family because she was returning to Turkey. I was about to greet her when she asked me why I was returning to Turkey. I think the answer was very clear. She looked at me with critical eyes and said, “Is your family important enough for you to give up your job?” I don’t know why, but it was as if I had a lump in my throat. I said in a quiet voice, “My job is very important to me.” She raised her voice a little and said, “Even more than your family?” I just said, “No. It’s not more important than my family.” There was a terrible silence during the next 10 minutes of waiting. When we got on the plane, I realized that the greenness in the sky had increased so much and it had taken over the whole sky. It was like it swallowed all the blue. On the way to Turkey, I just slept, like any other person who wakes up at 5 in the morning and starts traveling.

When I reached my family, they were all asleep. I was relieved to see them sleeping peacefully. I slept with them and in the morning they all shouted “Alice!”. Seeing the joy in their eyes made me happy. Actually, the green rain had decreased in Turkey and the natural blue rain had started to replace it. But I can’t say this for every country. We thought we should take a hand as a family and contacted the authorities. This was very easy because I am an anchor. We quickly told them that they should find out the cause and share it with all the countries. Strangely enough, I found out that the authorities never took any action. I was inwardly complaining about how this could happen, but there was no time to get angry. All the research was completed and the cause was found. It was all because the fireworks that all countries use cause huge explosions. I don’t think it’s possible, I think there are bigger reasons, but for now the problem is solved. The whole world breathed a big sigh of relief. Maybe next time it will turn out to be an alien attack, what do you think?
