Gaming: Both A Blessing and A Curse

Online gaming is a hot topic these days. Although I’m not a fan of gaming in general I see a lot of people who are close to me, playing computer games and loving them. One of my close friends said she plays games because she wants to feel the excitement when she passes a level or unlock a new character. Which, feeling exited, is great but… people playing online games for so many hours can actually be an issue more than it’s a benefit.

People who play video games usually get hooked to and it takes at least a couple hours to get off the game once they start playing. Which can be an enjoyable experience for them, but most people who do this often experience mental and physical issues. These issues can be sleeping deprivation, headaches, depression, anger issues, gaining weight, not exercising enough and so on. Maybe I’m a bit biased because I don’t actually play any games and don’t know that experience. Maybe if I play one, I might be like them, who knows? The reason Why I don’t play video games is that I see with my own two eyes what those games do to my loved ones. My family members, my friends… Once they start playing games on an extreme level, they can’t focus on what I’m saying, always think about the games they’re playing and overall experience tiredness.

Also, one of my close friends said that although they love gaming, they can’t focus on studying afterwards. Just a little note, I’m not trying to say that EVERY person who plays games experience these things. I’m just talking about my own observations.

Anyway, I know it’ going to be a bit weird to say after hating on games a second ago but I’m open to playing video games, just not get addicted to them.

People these days have stressful lives, including me. So, I can understand wanting to wind down after a long day and playing games for a bit. But after “that bit” everyone should be careful and limit the screen time, please.
