Food And Feelings

Some people say that chocolate releases the happiness hormone. Not only chocolate, but they also say that all sugary foods release happiness hormone. But is this true, or is its absurdity?

Is it true that what we eat affects our mood and behaviour? Is there a close-knit correlation between the nutrients we intake and our mood? Actually, when we think it’s not illogical cause when we eat something sweet our mood rises (at least for me). But there is, for example, something like that when we eat sweet; our mood goes up, but when we eat bitter, does our mood go down? No.

So only sugary, sweet things can affect our mood. I think it’s ridiculous.

So does what we eat affect our mood and behaviour? In my opinion, yes; when we eat something, it generally makes us happy because if we are hungry, then we should eat, and it makes us feel better. But some doctors say it’s about our hormones; in other words, when we eat chocolate, it releases endorphins. Endorphins are also known as the hormone of happiness. So this means chocolate only helps to release endorphins. And that is why people feel happy when they eat chocolate.

But can we say this for all foods? Like all foods affect some hormones and cause our mood to change or affect our behaviours. I guess not, because if it was like that then when we eat something our behaviours and mood will change. Then we wouldn’t even be responsible for our behaviour and that would be so bad.

To summarize I can say that what we eat does not always affect our mood and action. But some of them affect for example chocolate increases Endorphins and our sense of happiness increases due to endorphins  (also known as the happiness hormone). This means when we eat chocolate it gives us a little sense of happiness for a short time. But like I said not every food affects a hormone so not every food increases our sense of happiness or some other feeling. Shortly actually it is just about the hormones, hormones do the job.
