Today is the 7th of May and summer temperatures arrived sooner than I expected. That means that summer is right at the door. To be honest, I am not excited about it. On the contrary, I am so afraid. I always get scared about the end of the semester we are in and there is only one month left. But, I need to keep myself motivated because we have some exams next year. Other than that, I will try to keep myself entertained this summer.
First of all, I am going to do my responsibilities. What I mean by that are my homeworks, houseworks and shopping. I don’t think it is right to skip my responsibilities. Besides that, I like to spend my time on something. My parents and elders send me to the market that is one street away because they think that an adult should not go the market when there is a young person in the house. Still, I like them.
Secondly, I am going to have fun and enjoy summer with my family. I rarely see my cousins, aunts and grandparents, so I want to spend most of my limited time with them. I really miss them so much. The only relative I have except my parents here in Ankara is my grandma, my dad’s mother, Nuran. I frequently see her so I do not miss her that often.
Thirdly, I am going to organise my diet. My whole family likes to eat flour products so we eat a lot of them. Besides that, our family has a tendency to have diabetes. Both of my grandfathers have it. So in order to prevent that from happening, I am going to decrease the amount of everything I eat, even the best foods in the universe, meat and chocolate.
And finally, I’m going to play video games! My parents always try to prevent me from playing video games. If they seem while playing, they usually send me to do chores. But this time, they won’t be able to get over my needs. I am saying “needs” because video games are one of the ways I socialise with my friends.
I have never planned my summer like this before and now I see that there are a lot of stuff to do! I’m actually not a summer person but this time I’m looking forward to it!
