There are many people in the world and all of these people have different opinions. Someone likes the color white, someone likes black… Someone likes cats, the other loves dogs… Mathematics is difficult and boring for one, fun and easy for another… So, as you can see, such things vary from person to person and people act in line with what they believe.
When most people have to make a decision on an issue, they think about what would be the most logical decision and use their reason as a guide. “Which one would be better for me to do?” they think. So, do you think your mind always shows the right path? John Smith has a saying: “Reason is the guide of man and always helps you find the right path.” but I cannot say that I agree with this statement. If you ask why, I can summarize it in a single sentence: Humans are creatures that have emotions and can control them. Don’t you think it would be unfair to ignore these feelings?
One of the reasons why I think this way is that our reasons only think about us. Your mind tries to make the best choice for you, it doesn’t care about other people. So if you only care about yourself, you can decide with your mind, but if you say, “Other people are important for me too!” then you should consider your instincts and emotions as well as your mind. That’s why I find Emily Brown’s quote “Reason is just a tool; listening to our emotions and instincts is more important” more accurate.
If we look at the issue from a different perspective; if a person acts only with his mind, without emotion, he has no humanity, he becomes like an animal. Because animals mostly act in their own interests and think about their own lives. I want to give an example of this situation. For example, one day you are walking on the road and there is an injured cat near the trees. You wanted to help, but if you do you’ll be late for work. What would you do? If you make a choice with your mind, thinking that the mind will always show you the right path, you will leave that cat there and go to work. But if you decide with your feelings, you will save that cat from there.
Of course there are people who say, “If I do that, I’ll be late for work.” but don’t be afraid, life will always help you as long as you listen to your human feelings.
