Education System in Turkey

Education system in Turkey: Where are we in education as a country, have we reached the point we desire?

We are definitely not in a good place. But it is not right to be too pessimistic just because we are not in a good place. First of all, we cannot talk about a country in the world that has solved its problems in education. All developed countries, developing countries, undeveloped countries, in other words, all countries of the world continue to have problems with education. Because in an environment where life continues, where children, young people and change-transformation continue, where technology enters people’s lives, new job fields are opened and people communicate and interact with them, in other words, because it is a constantly changing and dynamic field, problems in education have not and will not end in any country in the world. But there are countries that have solved these problems better, there are countries that have solved some of these problems, and there are countries that have not solved these problems at all or to a great extent.

The most ancient complaint of the world is the complaint about the deterioration of time and people. Therefore, the debate on whether humanity or education is bad, whether people are deteriorating, whether it used to be better is one of the oldest and most ancient debates in the world. In this sense, yes, we have problems and we are a country trying to solve them. The issue of building and demolishing in education is beautifully described in Akif’s famous poem: It took Mimar Sinan the Architect and Suleiman the Magnificent to build Suleymaniye, but it took a pickaxe to demolish .
